Our Mission
Being Better Neighbors is a Colorado-registered and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit that fosters engagement through events and programmatic initiatives that serve to celebrate Erie's community and encourage equity and inclusion.
Our "Why"
Since Erie was established over 150 years ago as a coal mining town, community members have built environments to cultivate togetherness and belonging. For the last 4 years, Being Better Neighbors has hosted some of the most highly attended events in our town, attracting more than 5,000 residents and neighbors each year.
Erie is a quickly-growing town with a median age in the early thirties and almost 20% of the residents representing diverse populations such as Asian, Black and Hispanic. As Erie grows, it is important to celebrate the things that bring us together - stories, food, music, shared experiences, dancing, and more. Being Better Neighbors provides an opportunity to unite our community by exploring and celebrating the rich tapestry of our Town.
